“Meet in the Middle” Explores BIPOC Narratives
Through Photography and Music

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CINCINNATI, OH – concertnova and PAR-Projects delve into Black Midwestern identity through music and photography with Asa Featherstone, IV this coming April.  MEET IN THE MIDDLE (April 13 + 14 at PAR-Projects) explores the convergence of time-based art (music) and static art (photography) to investigate shared narratives, particularly within BIPOC communities in the Midwest. In a meeting point of music and photography, the event represents the geographic and cultural “middle” of histories that are often overlooked.

Chamber music by both living and historical Black Midwestern composers, including William Grant Still, Shawn Okpebholo and Shelley Washington–with photographic responses by Asa Featherstone IV, Amber N. Ford and Markel Randle–mark the event, with performances by The Red Door Quartet.  Featherstone, who curated the exhibit, will speak at the event through a panel discussion, and the audience is encouraged to be part of the dialogue.

This project is presented in collaboration with Asa Featherstone IV’s newly-launched MIDTONES Photo Magazine.

Guests at this mainstage event will also receive a custom commemorative photo with the price of their ticket.

PAR-Projects is an events partner and collaborator for this exhibition.
